Adolescent and teenage boys often struggle for independence. They want to be free from peer pressures and look for direction when making tough decisions. That's why our youth boxing program is as much about building character as it is about building muscle. Our mission is to use the art of boxing to create disciplined young men who are trained, self-confident, physically fit, determined and competitive.
Along with the technical and physical training in the art of boxing, our athletes are exposed to role models who emphasize moral and ethical values through their example and in their instruction. Our program is designed to strengthen the mind, body and spirit. Our director of boxing is a certified therapist in behavioral modification and works with at-risk youth through a local juvenile court. All of our athletes must commit to our Code of Conduct.
And for competition, our athletes train on a flexible schedule as needed to prepare for matches. Our team members, as they qualify, compete in Youth Boxing Nationals, Golden Glove and the Junior Olympics.
Team Prodigy is also committed to training athletes of all backgrounds. Through our Medals in the Making non-profit program, we offer a sliding scale of fees for our boxing team. Potential team members are evaluated based on their level of commitment, regardless of their ability to pay. For more information, visit Medals in the Making or call 931-550-0051.
